Old Manchester United target available for £11m? Snap him up Fergie!

Remember Wesley Sneijder? Manchester United fans surely will. He’s a player that seems to get linked with a move to Old Trafford EVERY single transfer window. It’s become something of a drag.

Well, brace yourself footballing fans: Wesley Sneijder has been linked to Manchester United once more. But is the Dutch ace still the right candidate for a role in the United midfield, or has that possibility been and gone?

The Sun are responsible for the link. They claim that Sneijder has run out of patience with his role at the San Siro and is keen for Inter Milan to ‘accept a low fee [for a move out the club] or pay his lucrative deal until 2015’. In other words, he’s not willing to accept a pay-cut on his £1.6m-a- year salary and fancies a move to a club who will keep him financially happy.

Sneijder himself has already spoken about his future: “It’s clear it is best for everyone concerned that in January I am transferred”.

What’s more, Sneijder isn’t getting the kind of game-time that he deserves at the San Siro. Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni has benched Wesley on numerous occasions – something I’m sure wouldn’t be the case at Manchester United.

Sneijder has long been considered a replacement for Paul Scholes at Old Trafford. As the Ginger Prince’s career winds down, the need to bring in this fabled replacement grows and now looks like a good time to for Sir Alex to make his move.

At 28-years-old, Wesley is in the best condition of his career. Whilst his form has suffered due to a lack of regular football, there’s no doubting his talent or ability. He’s one of the best midfielders in world football and the kind of player you’d just love to see plying his trade in the Premier League.

Whilst he doesn’t share Scholes’ competitive edge and physicality, the Dutchman can more than match him when it comes to crafting a killer pass. He’s one of Dutch football’s most technically gifted players and that’s saying something.

But what about the price? According to The Sun, Manchester United could snap him up for just £11m – a genuine bargain for a player of his quality. Yes, he’d ask for extortionate wages, but this may be offset by the money United will be saving on his transfer fee.

Let’s face it: it’s a move that should have happened a couple of seasons ago, but it’s better late than never! What’s more, by delaying a move Sir Alex may have just saved his club a significant sum of money.

What’s your take? Should Sir Alex STILL be pursuing Wesley Sneijder?

Sneijder is the answer to our midfield, we should buy him straight away. However, SAF already said that he is not buying anyone in Jan….this is not going to happen….I am pretty sure about this…

  • Plz u must buy it,senjider can replacement paul and we can ave 2 dmf cmf plz buy any amount money

  • Sir Alex pls sign sneijder 4 us and stop running experiment with M. Carrick

  • Sir Alex pls sign sneijder 4 us and stop running experiment with Carrick

  • If the prize is right Fergie should sign him up&get Nike or any of our official sponsors to undertake his salary demand. He should be able to fill our midfield problem&we probably also need Wanyama or any other good defender to compete on all fronts. Though I will forever trust Fergie’s judgment on ds but I think d Glazer’s debt is hampering spending though as a loyal employee SAF would always deny ds. My concern is for us not to lose to Barca d third term consecutively while Fergie needs more Euro success for his pedigree
