With two new managers at two of the wealthiest clubs in the Premier League, the January transfer window is certainly going to be an interesting one.  Both Chelsea and QPR will be hoping to buy in January in order to get their seasons back on track. But who else will be looking to spend in the post-Christmas sales?

Harry Redknapp, appointed manager of QPR on Sunday, is well known for his success in the transfer window, making some fantastic buys for Portsmouth and Spurs that transformed both teams. He will certainly be looking to strengthen his new team that currently sit rock bottom of the table. Harry has been at the club less than 72 hours and yet he has already been linked with Beckham, Anelka, and three players he managed at Tottenham Peter Crouch, Scott Parker and Michael Dawson. With a reported £10million to play with in January he will be hoping that little dog of his will find some more money from somewhere. (Sources: BBC, Daily Star, Daily Mail).

Rafa Benitez, Chelsea’s new ‘interim’ boss goes into the transfer window with a team that has played some fantastic football but have struggled with results of late. Di Matteo had bought wisely in the summer in Oscar, Eden Hazard and Cesar Azpilicueta who are regulars in the starting 11. However, sticking faith in Torres and losing Drogba has meant that they lack someone who will always score goals week in week out. The widely reported transfer of Athletico Madrid’s Falcao will be a great transfer if they can prize him away from links with City, the Columbian has scored 14 goals already this season and is reportedly interested in a move (Source: Daily Mail).

Eyes will also be on City who will obviously look to buy and maybe offload some players. In the last few days, Italian Daniele de Rossi has been highly linked with a move to the Etihad that supposedly he turned down in the summer (Source: Daily Mail ). Sitting 2nd in the league behind rivals Manchester United, Mancini will look to further strengthen his squad with a fight against Chelsea likely. After a disappointing Champions League campaign, the importance of retaining the league title will put pressure on Mancini to deliver.

Redknapp’s old club Tottenham infamous for their Deadline Day deals will look to buy after a disappointing end to summer’s window. Failing to secure the signing of a playmaker and a third striker has really hindered Spurs’ going forward, resulting in their low position in the league currently. If AVB can find adequate replacements for Modric and Van der Vaart then he will have a very strong squad going into the second half of the season. Shakhtar Donestk’s Willian has been reported as saying he is interested in a move to London, which would be a great signing for the club (Source: TALKSport).

Another club that must do business in January is Liverpool. Currently solely relying on Luis Suarez as an attacking threat, Brendan Rodgers will have his eyes on a striker to replace Andy Carroll who strangely left on loan in the summer. The club that seems to be linked with everyone but never actually does much business in comparison to other teams will need to in order to better their current 11th position.

Now onto Manchester United, sitting at the top of the pile it’s hard to predict what Fergie has up his sleeve, but once again this January, the Wesley Sneijder move will be on the fans’ thoughts, will he finally make the move? Links for players like West Brom’s Claudio Yacob and QPR’s Adel Taarabt will soon be scrapped (Source: IBTimes).

Finally onto Arsenal, no business… like always.

January transfer window is always an interesting month, with a lot of the big teams looking to improve their squads there will be a lot of money spent this time around.
