For the past handful of seasons the Bundesliga has established itself as a breeding ground for young footballing talent.

The likes of Mesut Ozil, Sami Khedira, Marco Reus, Shinji Kagawa, Mario Goetze, and Thomas Muller have all graduated from the bundesliga talent pool and helped enhance the German leagues reputation as a footballing kindergarten.

This season there are expectations once again that new talent will blossom, to join the top players of the league and a few have already caught the attention of critics and fans alike.

Here is a run through of the 4 young players who will make the headlines this year:

Lewis Holtby

Born to an English father and a German mother the young Schalke midfielder has already been linked with a move to Everton (the team he and his father support).

Often compared to Mesut Ozil, the skilful midfielder has a fantastic passing range as well as the ability to beat a man one on one.

The start to this season has seen him show his ability to score as well, which will only help to increase his value.

Julien Draxler

With the huge void at Schalke left by Raul it seems this young man Draxler is certainly ready to fill it. Though only 18 he has a great attacking ability and has already been considered by top European clubs as a potential transfer target.

Able to dribble at speed as well as unlock defences with key passes Draxler is expected to be a key player for the German national side in the future.

Andre Schurrle

The Leverkusen striker with the ability to play on the wing was a wanted man in the last summer transfer window. Chelsea saw a couple of bids turned down for the hitman.

Masses of speed and scoring abilty as well as his versatility make him a very important player for the German side. You can expect him parting ways with Leverkusen over the next year.
