Now or never – Why Arsenal have everything but time:

|

Arsenal’s conclusion: No goals & 2 points lost (Déjà vu?)

Time unfortunately is more than a luxury to any club in the Premier League this season. The new financial model clubs are run by have not only made it unfair to clubs without super investors but also made catching up a nightmare. The 2 Manchester powerhouses and Chelsea are looking hungrier & sharper than ever, with their strike force composed of the finest strikers of this generation. Arsenal’s schedule have imposed tough games at an early stage and losing points against their major rivals would only spell another mediocre season and frustration to fans once again.

The trust Arsène Wenger has in his squad should be enough to motivate them, but the fear of ridicule should also be a pusher. As the French tactician recently declared, there is no doubt that the new strike force will start producing goals. However, they are going to have to step up and start firing now as Arsenal face a make or break season, while the schedule ahead clearly won’t hold any gifts.

The new hot shots at the Emirates definitely have stats that speak for themselves and Wenger, known for his tactical ingenuity, would clearly not recruit average performers to make up for the loss of his captain and most prolific goal scorer, Van Persie. Martin Keown backed the Spanish recruit to become a gem for Arsenal and has even described his early displays as more consistent than former Gunner, Fabregas. “He is Liam Brady and Cesc Fabregas rolled into one: he has Brady’s shooting ability and Fabregas’s vision”, Keown wrote for the Daily Mail.

Cazorla, Giroud & Podolski: the dawn of a new era in Arsenal’s history? A deadly cocktail to soon conquer the fans by storm? I would love to think so like thousands of others out there. For now, let’s just hope to see some more action upfront and let’s hope that in the name of dignity, the new boys show Arsène that his trust will not be wasted.

Do you think the trio have to step up now? Will they? A new legendary force to be carved in Arsenal’s history? Your thoughts, our pleasure.
