Can Brendan Rodger’s lead Liverpool’s Magical Mystery Tour to success?

|

Rodgers’s mission to enforce the defense seems to be very slippy, so he must be very careful with the work he intends to carry out.

Unlike the rearguard, Liverpool’s midfield zone looks more solid. Joe Allen’s transfer was a great move by Rodgers. The Welshman had some fantastic displays last campaign and could be very useful in a new-formed tandem with Lucas Leiva. The Brazilian was the best Liverpool player last season, before getting injured, but he is back and will be a wonderful addition to the midfield. If Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam find their 2010-11 season form back, they could bring some more competition between the central midfielders.

As we started talking about players whose form dipped dramatically the previous season, Stewart Downing must be mentioned. The winger has done nothing remarkable since he is a Liverpool player and this season would be his last chance to retain his place in the team. Rodgers has to pray Downing will improve, as the manager has no replacement for the English international, except Ratheem Sterling, who is only 17. In that case, Rodgers may have to look around for a good winger.

One of the most exciting questions before the new season begins is whether Andy Carroll will stay at Liverpool, and if so, will he finally demonstrate why The Reds paid such a colossal transfer sum for him in 2011. In the end of the last campaign the 23-year-old striker improved his form a bit and now the talented Fabio Borini was transferred in from Roma and it is expected that one of them should be the leading goalscorer of the team. However, nobody can predict if either Carroll, or the Italian will score as many goals, as everyone anticipates. Luis Suarez and Steven Gerrard complete the main Liverpool squad for the new campaign, their qualities cannot be questioned, so now it all depends on Brendan Rodgers. The young manager was given an opportunity to work with fantastic players, but the huge challenge will be to unite them and extract all the best, the lads are ready to give.

A few weeks ago Rodgers presented a 180-page blueprint with his vision of how a club should operate. He revealed he has been working on this for 15 years, which is not only impressive, but inspiring, at the same time.

A link to The Beatles’ famous album ‘The Magical Mystery Tour’ could be included here. Rodgers’ s tenure at Liverpool starts off as a mystery tour, but will it be MAGICAL? will the 39-year-old Northern Ireland manager bring success back to The Anfield? The answers will be found out by the end of the season.
