Robin Van Persie has set up the saga of the summer so far and we are only 15 days into the transfer window ahead of an exciting 2012-2013 campaign. But only one thought hangs over every Arsenal fan’s mind – will they still see their stalwart gliding around the Emirates pitch, knocking in goals for fun, or will the Dutchman up sticks and move on. There is not one man on this planet that is sure of what shirt Van Persie will sport next year.

Various articles have been written on the possibility of Arsenal being without their top goal scorer of last year, many of them claiming that there is no chance that Van Persie will remain in London next year. However, footballers are funny people – we’ve seen it in the past. Infamously, Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney rejecting a new contract due to “the club’s lack of ambition” – just days before he signed a new five-year-deal. Arsenal now face a similar struggle.

RVP’s reasons for declining a contract extension cited a disagreement in the direction in which the club is headed and ruled out any discrepancy over finances although this could come into question due to the Gunners refusing to overpay their stars. The Arsenal captains dignity may come under attack from fans after new additions, Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud, have declared the prospect of winning trophies as major plus point in their recent transfers to north London. With Arsenal now prepared to cope with the potentially imminent departure of their captain, Robin Van Persie now has the freedom of where his next step will take him.

A whole host of massive European clubs have put themselves into position to take advantage of Van Persie’s contract rebellion; Juventus, PSG, Manchester City and Barcelona have all stated their lust for someone of the Dutchman’s nature. Many more clubs have hidden their admiration for the 65-cap forward, but are sure to be in the shadows, watching over any proceedings that may happen in the near future. (Source: Daily Mail)

Serie ‘A’ giants, Juventus suffered a knockback in their attempt to lure Van Persie to Italy after Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger told an Italian journalist that he’ll buy him an ice-cream if Robin Van Persie moves to Turin. A move to Italy could suit Van Persie, whether it is with Juve, or possibly with AC Milan who look set to lose their hit man, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, to big-spending French side, PSG. Their interest in Van Persie seems to have cooled due their impending coup of the Swede.

Despite the near-certain competition of trophies with either of the Italian giants, the Serie ‘A’ league is not looked upon with the same integrity as the Premier League and even La Liga, where interest has been mentioned by both Barcelona and maybe current champions, Real Madrid. Barcelona would offer the chance to play the ‘tiki-taka’ football which Arsenal attempt to project at the Emirates, even though it may not to the same effect as the Catalan side. Robin Van Persie’s style of play would suit a move to Camp Nou; his meandering around the field, similar to that of the Barca forwards, who don’t have a recognized out-and-out striker. Van Persie would fit the bill although it would be a big ask for Barcelona coach, Tito Vilanova to try and sanction a move for the forward.

If the new players Wenger has signed and can help Arsenal challenge for epl,RVP will be forgottten.Howeve if Arsenal go into a slump,Wenger’s head will be sought. To avoid this the fm needs to change some of his philosophy.
    If not,it will be downhill.
