Players all around the country are back in pre-season training, and with just over a month till the start of the new season. Here are 5 players to look out for in the Premier League in the 2012/13 season.

Tom Cleverley – Having signed a professional contract with Manchester United in 2009, Cleverley has spent seasons out on loan at Leicester City, Watford and most recently Wigan Athletic. He has been tipped as Paul Scholes’ long term replacement for the Red Devils for the last two years. With the announcement that Scholes was going to retire at the end of the 2010-11 season, Cleverley looked set to become United’s main man in midfield. After a great pre-season and a great performance in United’s Community Shield win against their City rivals; followed by a great start to the 2011-12 campaign the England U-21 international suffered ligament damage to his foot against Bolton.

Having been sidelined for a month he returned for only 2 matches before suffering another injury. Following the re-arrival of Paul Scholes, Cleverley didn’t appear much but with the realisation that Scholes won’t be around forever this season could just be the season Tom Cleverley steps up and proves he can be the man to take Manchester United forward.

Victor Moses – The 21 year old Nigerian International has been apart of the Wigan Athletic development process by Roberto Martinez over the past 3 years. Having survived relegation the last day of the 2010/11 season, Wigan went on to finish 15th last season and avoiding relegation by a clear 7 points. With an astonishing 7 wins out of the last 10 matches (including wins against Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and high flying Newcastle United) the Latics will be looking to improve on their league finish once again. Moses himself is reportedly set to be leaving Wigan for the Champions League winners Chelsea before the new season begins.

If this transfer was to be completed then being exposed to a higher level of football and not to mention European football we could see great things from Victor Moses this season. If the move doesn’t materialise then it will be equally as interesting to see how far he can take Wigan Athletic this season.

Josh McEachran – Josh McEachran has been earmarked as a future Chelsea star who can deliver glory for the Blues over the next few years. At only 19 years of age he has a bucket load of potential and the perfect platform to show it. With the old guard coming into the home stretch on their illustrious careers. For example, Frank Lampard is entering the final stages of his career as well as Meireles and Essien slowly creeping towards the latter stages, McEachran still has time on his side to wait in the wings, to be slowly introduced into the Chelsea first team and will be ready to take the reins and take control of Chelsea’s midfield.
