Arsenal’s priorities: Olivier Giroud, Yann M’Vila, Jack Wilshere and all things Gourcuff

|

Olivier Giroud has completed his move from Montpellier HSC to Arsenal for a reported £13 million fee, not a bad deal for the gunners, some papers now believe this is the end of van persie’s time at Arsenal I wouldn’t be so sure, if anything this shows Van Persie he’s not a necessity anymore there’s more than enough firepower in this squad now, and with van persie having a heavy price over his head and age against his side he’s running right out of options, positive signs for the gunners even if the local media doesn’t want to paint that picture.

In other news Harry Redknapp has called for England to be more positive and sees Jack Wilshire as the man to lead the charge, calling him the next Pirlo “ are you Tottenham in disguise?” is Harry trying to put extra pressure on Wilshire this season for Tottenham’s gain I wouldn’t say no.

Next is the news that Arsenal could be ready to pull out of the race to sign Yann M’Vila (source: The Metro), Wenger keeps the national team very close to his heart and with Yann M’Vila being involved in the aftermath of France’s woeful Euro 2012 exit and having poor disciplinary record, being arrested three times in two years is hardly going to impress the gunners boss. It is though worth a mention that van persie had a bad disciplinary record before joining Arsenal, which nearly put his move in jeopardy but is now arsenal captian! Some players are worth the risk.

Speaking of French players that could be on their way to the emirates Yoann Gourcuff is a name that has been on the back of papers for years, and has been linked with Arsenal more times than he’s been injured (a lot) would he be worth the risk? For me yes he would make an excellent signing for the gunners his technical ball play would bring back that midfield quality that arsenal were missing last season whenever Arteta was out and when mini Pirlo was injured.

What’s your take? What should Arsenal’s transfer priorities be? Do the Gunners need to look at their midfield? If you were Wenger where would you be looking to splash your cash? Get in touch with us through the comments section!

The article is good but am of the view that a DM and LB need attention. RB Jenk, can cover with a lot of young Guys like Yarris, Francis etc can help in case of injuries plus Song. But LB both Santos and Gibbs are attack minded so they are always caught off target with no perfect cover at all. Migue an Verm have tried but fallen short.

Then about Song, he is always up front because of the ineffectiveness of the front. He over work himself by attacking and defending. He wants to win, I remember Jack Wilshire one time said that they have a playing understand with Song, while one moves up front, then one remains which all others have failed to master as they think they are fixed in attacking position without covering other areas.

If someone doubts, how many times has Song produced a brilliant pass to RVP to rescue the team when in a fix? That talks for itself, he is a DM. The guy is so valuable to Arsenal that he play almost all departments without complaining that its not his position. Defence whenever need arises, DM and attacking Mid.

So We may need M’Villa to support him because he will not be able to play all the 4 key trophies and competition to him to sharpen up further. So once we get a defensive Mid, we will not need attacking Mid as Song can roam when necessary.

Strikers, we have a lot of young players who can now come in like Campbell, Theo, plus others in reserve needs to be promoted.

Meanwhile, the Squalli, Bentners, Chamach, Denilson, Djour, Bartley,Fab (keeper) plus others should give way in those positions.
