QPR are in developments of a quick revamp that they hope will secure their Premier League status. After a slump in performances they swiftly moved into sack the man that got them into the Premier League by winning the Championship in style last year, Neil Warnock, and replaced him with Mark Hughes, a man that started the revolution at Manchester City and led Blackburn Rovers up into the top six in the 2005-06 season. So the right man for the job?

Well with Mark Hughes’ stature in the game he has his contacts and being a popular figure among his players at the clubs he’s managed he is able to gain trust and it has shown right up until transfer deadline today with the biggest rumour going that Bobby Zamora, the man Mark Hughes was able to lead onto being a contender to be an England international, will be joining him at QPR. Mark Hughes stated when he was unveiled as the new QPR manager that he wants to build a legacy and plans to be at QPR for the long run, but his first task will be to rally his troops and get them climbing the table.

Business in the January transfer window has been a busy month for QPR but they have strengthened the areas that definitely needed strengthening. They have one young promising English defender in Nedum Onouha who has struggled to continue his development at Manchester City since they were rolling out paychecks for world class players, but he will be looking to make a name for himself and show why he was once touted as being the next Rio Ferdinand.

Also to join him in the centre of defence they have brought in Taye Taiwo on loan from AC Milan, a massive coup and sign that QPR can attract big name players. With all the attacking minded midfielders in their squad they were in need of a ‘Makelele’ type player that would be reliable against attacking sides and in Samba Diakite they have found just that. He is young and powerful and with possesses that African flair that has taken the Premier League by storm and fans love that.

But the biggest problem QPR have faced this term is a permanent goalscorer. They are currently joint with West Brom and Everton on just 22 goals this year, the lowest in the league and they have strengthened this area with a striker that would frighten defences in his Liverpool days, Djibril Cisse. He also enjoyed a successful loan spell at Sunderland where he scored 10 goals in 35 matches. The striker is definitely not passed it either as with Panathinaikos from 2009-2011 he scored 47 goals in 61 matches. He is just the type or striker QPR are looking for and there is no doubt with his experience in the Premier League that is what tipped QPR off that he would be the striker to help them avoid relegation sooner rather than later.

Only time will tell if these strong signings will pay-off for a club with so much potential. Last year we saw Blackpool fall victim of a second half of the season slump, but with they players QPR have brought in surely that will get them out of the relegation scrap by the end of the season. But that’s why we love the Premier League because of it’s unpredictable nature.
