Bolton have made a name for themselves in recent times as one of the best proponents of the loan system. Not only do they usually go after the finest young talent English football has to offer, they give them a good footballing education, plenty of game time and they return to their former clubs more complete players. The proof, as always, is in the pudding – just look at how fast Jack Wilshere and Daniel Sturridge developed after a loan deal with the Trotters.

As such, I’m always genuinely happy to see young talent at any club linked to loan moves with Owen Coyle’s Bolton side. Sunday People claim that the Bolton boss is set to sign Arsenal’s winger-wonder Ryo Miyaichi on loan for the rest of the season. Wouldn’t this be a great deal for both clubs involved.

Bolton fans may be wary. Ryo has yet to make his full Arsenal debut (though he did make a brief appearance in the Carling Cup) but this isn’t due to a lack of talent. Miyaichi more than proved himself whilst out on loan at Feyenoord last season, where he scored 3 goals and grabbed 5 assists in just 12 Eredivisie matches.

Unfortunately for Ryo, Wenger has preferred to side with experience this season and for this reason he along with players like Park Chu-Young just haven’t been given opportunities in the Premier League this season. If he is to continue to develop then it’s best that he moves somewhere that he can get regular game time with an aim to integrating him into the Arsenal first team when he returns.

He’s only 19-years-old now, but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is 18 and started for Arsenal at the weekend. If you prove yourself worthy, Wenger will give you chances. Bolton represent an opportunity for Miyaichi to prove that he can make it in the Premier League.

There may also be the persistent worry that Ryo will struggle physically in the Premier League. At only 19-years-old and with a slight frame, the youngster may struggle to exert himself physically. Bolton for all the attacking-emphasis under Owen Coyle remain a tough team – hopefully something Ryo can work on during his time with the Trotters.

Should this loan move go ahead Bolton will end up with a top class young talent to aid them in their relegation fight, Ryo will earn a good footballing education and Arsenal will get a better player back in the summer. It’s win-win-win.
