Why this Tottenham star is ThisIsFutBol’s Young Player Of The Month:

|

Welcome to ThisIsFutBol’s new monthly segment, the young player of the month award, where I will be scouring the globe in an effort to find this month’s best young player. So what is the age range for a young player? Under 21 would be the obvious answer, but due to the Olympics being held in England in 2012, I have decided to up the age range to 23 and under. So is this competition limited to the Premiership? No, the young player of the month award can be any player in any League across the world, as long as they are 23 or under.

Now there are many good contenders for this month’s award. Mark Albrighton has rediscovered his form for Aston Villa winning his place back in the starting 11; he also scored the premierships 20,000th goal in the premiership that being one of his two impressive strikes this month. However with Mark Albrighton only just winning his place back in the line up he just came short of winning this month’s award.

Another contender was Marcus Alonso, maybe an unknown to some football fans, but the Bolton left back is one of the Bolton backline to come out with any credit this month. He recently won a place in the starting line-up where he provides a good balance between attacking and defending, giving Bolton something extra when going forward. However towards the end of the month Alonso got injured in a game at Blackburn and unfortunately took him out of the running for this award.

But the winner and somewhat obvious candidate is of course the unstoppable Gareth Bale. Yes, Bale has been in unstoppable form this month, scoring in 3 of the 4 games he’s played in. Bale seems to have added more goals to his game this season, making him seem to be the ultimate threat down the wing.

Bale’s first game this season was a productive one, whilst Bolton were the victims of Gareth Bale’s first goal this month finishing well from close range from a corner. Chelsea then fell victim to Bale’s pace when he raced past Bosingwa to slide an irresistible ball into the box which Adebayor easily put into the back of the net. Bale then completed his fine form this month with two goals in the game against Norwich.

So Gareth Bale is the first winner of the ThisIsFutBol’s Young player of the month award and congratulations to him.
