Newcastle face Everton at St James’ Park in the Premier League today, as the Magpies look to continue their unbeaten run. Newcastle should be backed by a bumper 50k+ crowd, many of whom will go to see another Demba Ba goal! Here are a selection of stats ahead of the match, including Ba’s incredible shot to goal ratio…

Following his remarkable goal scoring run, Demba Ba is now Newcastle’s top ranked player in the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index, ranked 7th. This places Ba above strikers such as Emmanuel Adebayor, Luis Suarez, and Javier Hernandez.

Steven Taylor  is Newcastle’s next ranked player in 15th place, above England defenders Micah Richards and Ashley Cole. Taylor has won 15 tackles, 94% of all those attempted, along with 17 clearances and 13 blocks.

Demba Ba has been on lethal form for Newcastle, scoring 8 goals in 5 games including two hat tricks.

Ba’s goals have come from just 17 shots, making him the most lethal finisher in the Barclays Premier League with almost 50% of shots resulting in goals.

Everton gave rivals Manchester United a tough run out in their last outing, covering 118,985 metres compared to United’s 118668 metres.

Fellaini both covered the most ground and hit the top speed in that game, hitting a top speed of 11.93 metres per second and covering 12,431 metres.

Fellaini has covered the most ground in 7 out of his 8 starts for Everton this season, with his biggest performance the 13,123 metres he covered against Aston Villa.

Louis Saha’s return has been a welcome one for Everton’s struggling front line, and the French striker scored his first Premier League goal of the season in the 3-1 victory over Fulham.

Saha has already got more shots on target in his 358 minutes of action than any of his team mates with 10 shots on target (and 5 off target), averaging an effort at goal every 23 minutes 52 seconds.

In contrast, Everton’s next top shooter Leon Osman has averaged one every 48 minutes 44 seconds.
