The future of Arsenal football club is waiting in the wings:

There’s a lot of ill-feeling currently directed towards Arsenal, both from fans and pundits and particularly from the media who are loving every moment of the Gunner’s seeming decline. Whilst things do indeed look pretty bad at the moment, I do believe that there is hope for the future. Despite a poor start to the season, enough of Arsenal’s young talent have shown signs of genuine ability and passion to merit some degree of positive feeling when it comes to the next couple of seasons.

Of course Arsenal fans wanted success now, but it looks like that success will have to be put on hold, probably for a couple of seasons.

But just think about the young talent at Arsenal currently getting regular first-team games: Wojciech Szczesny, Kieran Gibbs, Carl Jenkinson, Jack Wilshere, Francis Coquelin and Emmanuel Frimpong. All young players who stand a very good chance of making it in the Premier League. Some of these players, for instance Jack Wilshere, are surely destined to have absolutely huge careers?

For me, however, the best of Arsenal’s young talent seems to be residing out on the wings. In particular I’d single out Ryo Miyaichi and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Clearly these are two individuals with a great deal of potential, but more importantly they are out-and-out wingers in the old-fashioned sense.

For too long now Arsene has hoisted players like Andrey Arshavin and Thomas Rosicky out onto the wings. These are players who would much rather be playing in the centre of the park. On the other hand Miyaichi and Oxlade-Chamberlain are proper wingers who love getting up and down the flanks, beating fullbacks and firing in crosses.

Given that Theo Walcott will likely be adopting a centre-forward position soon enough, it’s possible  that one of these players, probably Chamberlain, will start getting more chances to show what they can do.

Miyaichi and Chamberlain both have great pace and acceleration, but Miyaichi excels when it comes to ball control and dribbling past players. Chamberlain on the other hand looks like an awesome crosser of the ball who is more than capable of grabbing a few goals when the occasion arises (he recently netted a hat-trick for the England U21’s).

It may well be a couple of seasons before both players see regular first-team football, but their talent is evident for everyone to see. Things may look bad for Arsenal football club right now, but in the future there lies a glimmer of hope.

SOrry mate, Wenger will soon convert them to defensive midfielders. I think he delude himself that he knows best. He has only plan A and no Plan b.

  • kiki says:

what makes u think they will all remain in the team for that long, especially jack nd charmberline

  • jeremy says:

Wenger’s time is almost up if the gunners fil to start a winning run. I know the US boss gave him a job for life. These words can easily be retracted if the gunners fail to start a winning run and are stuck in the bottom table.

  • Arsene must go says:

What make u think that they will commit to the club after earning their names, if the fxxking board & the ass a has no better strategy to win anything but depends on inexperience young players. Have anyone ever wonder why ManU with so many young players this season still achieve good results?

man your article is full of shit!! for 6 years everybody has been saying the same thing look at the talent at arsenal yer look and they leave when better offers come along!! which understandably you cannot blame them, wenger gazidis kroenke need to be kicked out of this club they know nothing about football, they listen to the verbal diarohea of so called football philosophy which has proven HAS not worked, it is not all about winning trophies it is about a tem capable of fighting as a team all we have is a team that has no real quality it lacks depth, the only real surprise is chamberlain who if consistent can become a true world class player, this club has sold our best players only to buy has beens, everton are doing better than us without arteta what does that show, this board at arsenal are only intersteed in lining their pockets not in real success everybody knows to succeed tyou have to spend in order to re-cooperate and the idiots at arsenal went into panick buy and bought players ending their career, chelsea reject everton reject a german reject if these players where so good the top clubs in the world would have been fighting for their services, but guess what they play for arsenal the saying is you pay for what you get so take a deep look and look at our performances and nest time you write a blog think before you use those fingers.

So without the abuse above , I have to say you’re being delusional. Unless we get lucky ie a couple of top buys in January and R.V.P staying fit and resigning, not to mention Vermaalen, it looks like a downward spiral in which Jack would also opt out.As to the wingers, yes Oxide looks very promising but Miyaichi looks way of the pace so far. We dont want a load of players who might eventually do alright at Fulham

We need a settled team, too many changes, unless it is forced on us. Does anyone know our best team at this time with the present injuries. I would like to see Rio, Gerv, R.V.P[Park] Walcott and Ox.in some kind of formation.Arsenal must blitz the opposition with speed etc. Stop playing the high line, we need somone to stay back at all times.
We can afford the transfer fees but not the wage bills. Man. City will soon be the Arsenal First Team, I am surprised they have not bought the entire Youth and Reserve Squads for their new Acedemy being built.
Arsene for me his the Messiah, judge him end of season, then if things, are the same execute him.
For the moment get behind, Arsene, Arsenal and the players.
Last but not least, anyone not wanting to play for us, get rid, whoever they are.
