Cooke, Onuoha & De Jong – What Is Going On At Eastlands?

|

This brings me back to my initial point, it seems likely that he will be removed, if he hadn’t lied however that wouldn’t necessarily be the case, with all the good he has done for this club it would be a real shame that he could be forced to quit over a real moment of embarrassing stupidity.

The effect or Joorabchian however doesn’t end there, we also have the problems presented by Nigel De Jong.  No one would debate the importance of the Dutchman to the team, he is a fantastic player and vital in some of our bigger games, sadly however his future at the club is in the balance.  The midfielder has this season and next on his contract and has publicly questioned the clubs negotiation process.  Reports emerged a couple of weeks ago that he has rejected a new deal because he didn’t feel the wage on offer was high enough, for someone who appears so committed, it is not a surprise to learn that he has recently signed up to be represented by Joorabchian.

I think the basic facts are that we have to become harder in the face of such worms, Manchester United refuse to deal with ‘agents’ and representatives of his type, and we should do the same.  Ultimately that is why they got rid of Tevez, because of an unwillingness to deal with his people.  I think a message needs to be passed down to the playing staff, you deal with this man, you have no future at the club.  Ferguson would sell a player for the benefit of United and I think we should be the same.  If De Jong is making unnecessary demands, we know these are coming from his representative, but if he is adamant he wants that man speaking for him then I think he should be shown the door.

If we continue to have this snake involving himself in the running of the club, he will continue to try to hurt us.  The man responsible for kicking him out was Garry Cooke, hence his thirst for revenge, and if he is to lose his job it will be really damaging for the club, he may have done an awful thing, but all City fans should hope he can remain.

I am a huge Manchester City fan, but also a fan of football as a game. I like to watch games at all levels, from Blue Square Premier, right up to the Premier League where I have a season ticket at City. I really enjoy writing for This Is Futbol because it allows me to give my thoughts on the very latest pieces of football news. I also run thoughtsfromtheinvisibleman.blogspot.com for all things Manchester City.
