First of all it is widely known that in La Liga, Barcelona are the team that makes the fewest mistakes per match. It’s really hard to win over the Catalans, because they tend to be in posession of the ball at all times. And then they of course always do something constructive with the ball. Valencia are next to face them, but do they have any chance of bettering the Spanish giants? Barcelona seem to be making increasingly more mistakes than before, as evidenced by games against La Real or Real Sociedad, or against A.C. Milan.
With Piqué injured there have been reasons for concern for Pep Guardiola.
Canales has spoken about the importance of performing on the pitch, rather than off it (by using one’s mouth).
“We are pleased with the work that we have put in. We have won our first three games where we haven´t let in any goal. We´re not afraid and want to win and we always play to win”
That’s just the thing with the whole matter; You have to play to win against the Catalans, who will often be the superior side. How many times have we seen teams play Barcelona with a defensive mindset? Far too often if you ask me. You have to attack against Barcelona, as shall be shown on Wednesday when the teams meet at Mestalla.
Another thing worth mentioning is that Barcelona have a fixture schedule that is far more difficult, than Real Madrid’s over the coming weeks in the League.
Canales also said “that the Valencia team must think like the Barcelona team and even though it is hard to beat them, Valencia will give it a go. I personally always play because I know i can win the match for my team”
“Valencia hope that they will stay on the first spot until the leauge ends, but I confess that there are two strong teams out there” But as he says he focuses on his team only which is Valencia right now (although loaned out from Real Madrid).
And he points out that if Levante could beat Real Madrid 1-0, then Valencia can do the same against Barcelona. If Valencia win this match they will have twelve points after 4 games, the maximum. Barcelona will have 7 points. Maybe it’s time for a Valencia side to be back in the game, even though the season is’nt far lived yet. After all, they have signed some very good players indeed such as Adil Rami.
But the emergence of Roberto Soldado is the biggest transformation at the moment. I guess it’s by using all the wisdom the players have from facing arguably the world’s biggest team: Barcelona, that they will gel in this highly antipiciated match. Good luck!
