Why this INCREDIBLE Brazilian is just what Chelsea need

|

Neymar is a Chelsea targetLast week we ran an article about Santos youth academy star Neymar da Silva Santos – a Brazilian star who is all but set to become the ‘next big thing’. Given his quality, it’s not too surprising that Neymar has been linked to all and sundry throughout his career. In recent times however, it’s Chelsea’s name that has appeared most frequently in combination with Neymar’s. Though Real Madrid and Barcelona are also thought to be interested, it seems that Chelsea remain in the driving seat. Just check out these quotes from the Brazilian wonder-kid himself:

“To play for Chelsea would be an honour. Everything they have to offer is attractive to me. They have big players, they are in big competitions, they have a strong squad and I like the way they play.”

He went on to admit that, despite his love for Santos, he would like to seek a move to the Premier League, because it is a ‘higher level’. This is a boy with ambition.

His style of play reminds me somewhat of Arjen Robben at his best – yet he has the potential to be even better. There’s very little lacking from his game. He’s direct and is arguably one of the best dribblers in the game and would work wonders down the wings at Chelsea. He’s got great vision and can pull off defence splitting passes. Most importantly, he’s got an eye for goal – (he’s scored 27 goals in 64 appearances for Santos – not too shabby).

He even handled the physical approach of the Scots in yesterday’s international friendly between Scotland and Brazil. Indeed, Neymar was the only thing pundits were talking about following Brazil’s 2-0 victory. He’s the complete package – pace, nous, work-rate and ability.

How old is he? 19.

His versatility means that he would be at home anywhere in the Chelsea attack. He would be well utilised as a winger, playmaker or a striker. Given that there have been complaints regarding a lack of pace in the Chelsea attack, Neymar seems like the perfect tonic for Chelsea’s troubles. It’s likely that Anelka, Malouda and Drogba will be considering their Chelsea futures this summer. At least one of them has to go and Neymar should be brought in as a replacement. In with the new, out with the old.

There’s a battle on hand for this talented young Brazilian. Barcelona and Real Madrid will not give up on Neymar easily – but Chelsea must do everything they can to ensure they acquire his services.
