Sunderland plan French raid

|

Sunderland are planning a summer swoop for Nice midfielder Wylan Cyprien- if they avoid relegation.

According to a report on talkSPORT the midfielder has been watched extensively as Davie Moyes plans for the future.

Sunderland made approaches during the January transfer window but didn’t have the funds to force the French side to make a decision.

Cyprien joined Nice from Lens during the summer and hit the ground running stepping up to Ligue 1 scoring six goals so far.

Moyes was forced to switch his attention to former Everton duo Darron Gibson and Bryan Ovideo but hasn’t dropped his interest in Cyprien.

If Sunderland survive the drop the former Manchester United boss is planning a massive overhaul of his squad having stepped in as Sam Allardyce’s replacement with less than a month to until until the start of the new season.

Bringing in younger quality players with a resale value is the main criteria for future signing targets- provided relegation is avoided.
