A month after signing a new contract Olivier Giroud is a transfer target for Marseille.

According to a report in The Sun the French side are ready to make a big money bid in the summer to attract the Arsenal striker who has spent most of the season in the bench.

After missing the start of the season due to his Euro 16 commitments Giroud has had to settle for a place on the bench with Alexis Sanchez the first choice striker under Arsene Wenger.

Ironically this season the 30-year-old has enjoyed his best ever scoring return with eight Premier League goals from six starts and 11 substitute appearances.

That form has convinced Marseille to make a move for the striker who joined Arsenal in 2012 from Montpellier.

With Marseille enjoying big money backing that allowed them to sign up Dimitri Payet the French side want to add a new striking threat with Giroud perfectly fitting the bill.
