Romelu Lukaku is close to signing a new contract for Everton.
Speaking to talkSPORT this morning the player’s agent Mino Raiola claimed that talks towards a new deal were progressing.
Everton are desperate to get the striker signed up onto a new deal and are well aware of interest from Chelsea and other clubs.
While Raiola gave an upbeat message, back in December he claimed that a new contract was ‘99.9% done’.
Everton paid Chelsea £28m for the Belgian internationalist in 2014 after a successful season on loan having also spent a season on loan at West Brom.
It has often been claimed that Lukaku feels that he has unfinished business at Chelsea with Antonio Conte’s side scouting for a new striker with Diego Costa almost certain to be moving to China in the summer.
Lukaku’s four goal haul against Bournemouth at the weekend took his Premier League total for this season to 16 from 22 matches.
