Conte eyes fresh Italian job

|

Chelsea will have Inter Milan striker Ivan Perisic watched in action against Roma on Sunday.

A report in The Sun claims that Italian sources have stated that Perisic is a £29.5m summer target for Antonio Conte.

The 29-year-old still has three years left to run on his contract but a move to Chelsea would offer a significant wage rise for the Croatian internationalist.

Chelsea are looking to strengthen all areas of their squad with Conte looking to make a big impact on next season’s Champions League as well as expecting to defend the Premier League title.

The former Juventus boss has extensive knowledge of the Italian market and has heard good reports about Perisic.

Inter are in no rush to sell Perisic but a bid in the region of £30m would be difficult to resist with the player likely to look for a new contract if the club decide to turn down an offer from Chelsea.
