Lyon have approached Manchester United about taking Adnan Januzaj on loan to Ligue 1.
According to a report on TalkSPORT the French side are looking to cut short his loan spell at Sunderland and take him across the Channel.
Januzaj’s career has been in a tailspin since he made the breakthrough at Old Trafford under Davie Moyes with little sign of things picking up at the Stadium of Light.
Last season he failed to start a single match while on loan to Borussia Dortmund with that deal terminated in January.
Linking up again with Moyes hasn’t provided much of an upturn in form with the 21-year-old struggling to make an impression in a relegation battle.
With no prospect of a revival under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford Lyon are hopeful that Januzaj can rediscover top form with a move to Ligue 1.
Lyon are currently sitting in fourth place in the table and hoping to reclaim a place in next season’s Champions League.
