Conte extends loan deal

Antonio Conte has opted to keep Lucas Piazon at Fulham until the end of the season.

According to a report in the Daily Mail the Chelsea boss has opted against bringing the striker back this month which had been agreed in August when the initial loan was set up.

Piazon has only managed three Championship goals as Fulham chase a play-off place with Conte seeing no point in bringing the 22-year-old back to Stamford Bridge for bench duty.

The Chelsea boss was keen to bring in new striking options before the Diego Conte China controversy exploded.

Michy Batshuayi is keen to get regular first team football which leaves a space on the Chelsea bench which Conte had hoped to fill with Fernando Llorente but Swansea have refused to do business.

Plazon will be into the final year of his contract when he returns from Fulham. Having signed from Sao Paolo in 2012 it looks unlikely that he’ll cut it at Stamford Bridge.
