Chelsea are preparing a summer bid for Alvaro Morata to replace Diego Costa.

According to a report in The Sun the Real Madrid striker will be the subject of a summer bid as Chelsea prepare for life after Costa.

Antonio Conte is confident of managing the situation through until the end of the season but with Costa refusing to sign a new contract he will be sold in the summer.

Chelsea have made it crystal clear that they won’t entertain selling their top scorer this month with that information communicated directly to Costa and his representatives.

Morata has struggled to make an impact at Real after two seasons on loan at Juventus.

That won’t deter Chelsea from making a bid for the 24-year-old with Conte’s contacts at Juve providing positive feedback about his attitude while in Turin.

After his spell at Juventus Morata would have no problem moving to Chelsea despite coming through the ranks at Real.
