Liverpool have been linked with Sassuolo striker Domenico Berardi.
According to a report in the Liverpool Echo Jurgen Klopp has been keeping a close watch on the 22-year old who has come through the ranks at Sassuolo.
Klopp is keen to add additional striking options to his squad with that need highlighted by Sadio Mane’s extended stay at the African Nations Cup.
Berardi has been capped at u-19 and u-21 level and is expected to be called up for a full international cap this year.
Sassoulo are far from the biggest payers in Serie A and realise that at some stage their top asset will have to move on.
The Modena based side are well aware of the incredible transfer inflation hitting English football and would rather sell Berardi to Liverpool than to another Italian side.
The 22-year-old has only recently returned from injury but has scored twice in four appearances.
