Arsenal have been linked with Monaco midfielder Gabriel Boschilia.
TalkSPORT have picked up on a report from the Foot Mercato website that Arsene Wenger is ready to open negotiations with his old club.
Boschilia has been earning rave reviews this season after spending the second half of last season on loan at Standard Liege in the Belgian league.
Since returning to Monaco the 20-year-old has been in outstanding form with clubs from Italy and Spain picking up on his progress.
Boschilia signed a five year contract when he joined Monaco from Sao Paolo in 2015 in a deal believed to have cost around £5m.
It would take at least three times that to tempt Monaco into doing business but the French side are renowned for spotting, developing and selling players on.
A January deal may be difficult to force through but Wenger is known for his patience in the transfer market and would have no problem waiting until next summer to get his man.
