Willian has claimed that snubbing Spurs for Chelsea was the best move of his career.

A report in The Mirror quotes the 28-year-old on a You Tube video recalling the period when he switched from Anzi Makhachkala to Chelsea via negotiations with Spurs.

In August 2013 Willian was on the verge of signing on at White Hart Lane after passing his medical when Jose Mourinho entered the equation.

Spurs were furious at the breakdown in their deal but after more than three years at Chelsea Willian admits that he would do it all again exactly the same way.

Yes, it was difficult (to turn down Tottenham) but I didn’t sign,” he recalled. “When at the last moment Chelsea call me, I say I’m sorry but I go to Chelsea, that’s my dream. I have to go there, I don’t care. I go there.

I don’t know how I can explain that moment but it was the best moment I think in my life when I signed with Chelsea because it was my dream to come here.

“When I came I am very, very happy to play for Chelsea, to win titles here, so I am very, very happy.”

Willian has handled the transition from Mourinho to Antonio Conte with ease and enjoys the same backing and support from his new manager.

Despite failing to qualify for the Champions League there was no hint of a tantrum or transfer request from the Brazilian internationalist.

This season Willian has scored three times in 11 appearances for Chelsea.
