Jose Mourinho has denied claimed that he has nothing to hide over his tax affairs.

Speaking to The Sun the Manchester United boss claimed that he has nothing to worry about over claims made by The Sunday Times that he faces a tax bill of upto £10m and a possible criminal prosecution.

According to a report on the Football Leaks website some of the biggest names in world football are under investigation as payments for image rights are made into tax havens.

Image rights are a controversial area of payments with tax authorities believing that the term is being used to divert money away from routine salaries and earnings.

Football Leaks has gathered thousands of documents with Mourinho, Mesut Ozil and Cristiano Ronaldo named by the weekend reports.

Responding to the allegations after his side’s draw with Everton the Manchester United boss said: ““I’ve lodged the documents in Italy, Spain and England. I have nothing to hide. They prove I’ve done nothing wrong.”

Football clubs can be punished if they fail to disclose all details of payments made to the Premier League and Football Association.
