Paul Parker has warned Jose Mourinho that he’ll have to calm down or run the risk of six more red cards.

The Manchester United boss has cut an angry figure this season with his mood matching results with his old club Chelsea 11 points clear at the top of the table and Arsenal eight clear in the final Champions League spot.

Sunday’s 1-1 draw with West Ham saw Mourinho sent to the stand for kicking out at a bottle.

In isolation that decision seemed harsh but Parker, who starred under Sir Alex Ferguson, believes that the Old Trafford boss must mend his ways or fall flat in his face.

The Sun reports Parker telling TalkSport: “The problems he had at Chelsea were a dressing room issue, a man management issue, and that’s been brought to light at Manchester United as well.

But something has got to change. This can’t carry on. If he doesn’t calm down he could be sent off another six times this season.

What he’s doing on the sidelines is slowly having an effect on what’s happening on the pitch.

If he wants his players to be right and do their job properly they need him to be doing his job properly, and that is to become a coach on the touchline and conduct yourself in an appropriate manner.”

The stats against Mourinho are starting to mount up, painting the former Chelsea boss in a poor light against Davie Moyes and Lois van Gaal.

United have won just two of their last 10 league matches, on Sunday they travel to Merseyside to face Everton.
