He opted to remain at AC Milan over the summer but the agent of West Ham United target Carlos Bacca has refused to rule out a future Hammers switch, report The Express.

In quotes attributed to Colombian newspaper El Heraldo, Sergio Barila claimed the 30-year-old is currently settled at San Siro but didn’t diffuse speculation of an eventual London Stadium move.

Speaking about summer interest in Bacca, Barila claimed: “There were various clubs interested, but what Carlos prioritised was the football aspect and his family, not the finances.”

When pressed about interest from Slaven Bilic’s side, Barila continued: “If an offer interests both, then a transfer could be done. But for now, there is no such option. There is no reason for Bacca to leave AC Milan.”

With Andy Carroll still out of action through injury, the Hammers have given chances to Simone Zaza, Jonathan Calleri and young Ashley Fletcher so far this term but none have made the centre forward’s position their own so far.

Despite this, Michail Antonio enjoyed a positive performance leading from the front against Chelsea in the Hammers’ 2-1 EFL Cup victory last night as an option Bilic may favour going forward.

One thing is for sure and that’s the fact it appears West Ham United did all they could to land Bacca as a transfer priority this past summer.

After all, Bacca previously told Spanish radio station Cadena SER: “The offer of West Ham was very good I thought.”
