Chelsea & Man United to go head-to-head for £30m+ star

|

Linked with several centre back’s lately, Chelsea face competition from Manchester United in the race to sign Roma’s £35 million rated defender Antonio Rudiger, report the Daily Mail.

According to the publication, Antonio Conte has already ordered Blues scouts to run the rule over the German international who was interesting Chelsea prior to an injury that kept him out of Euro 2016 in the summer.

The report also claims that Manchester United are keen on recruiting the 23-year-old who is now firmly on the comeback trail having scored in Roma reserves’ victory over Novara at the weekend.

While Roma have proved a tough negotiator in the past with Kostas Manolas still remaining at Stadio Olimpico despite interest from English sides, it is believed a bid of £35 million may tempt the Serie A giants into a sale.

Having coped without the former Stuttgart man so far this term, Luciano Spalletti’s men are currently second in Serie A and only trail league leaders Juventus by two points after the first nine games.
