West Ham to rival Arsenal & Man United in £20m transfer battle for proven PL poacher

Odion Ighalo

According to reports from The Sun, West Ham have joined the race to sign Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United strike target Odion Ighalo during the summer transfer window.

The Nigerian international fired Watford to the top flight last term with 20 Championship goals and has continued to impress this season, bagging 14 goals and three assists in 31 Premier League outings as well as the opening strike in last month’s FA Cup quarter-final win over Arsenal.

The Gunners, alongside division rivals Chelsea and Manchester United, are believed to be targeting the 26-year-old ahead of the summer transfer window amid reports claiming the Hornets are already preparing to sell – with Granada’s Isaac Success earmarked as an ideal replacement.

But it appears West Ham are also in the mix to sign the in-demand poacher. Co-chairman David Sullivan revealed last week that the East Londoners will devote their attentions to signing a star striker during the summer transfer window and according to The Sun, Ighalo is on the club’s transfer hitlist.

Recent reports have valued the 5 foot 10 striker at around £20million.
