According to reports from Mirror Football, Liverpool have joined Arsenal in the transfer battle to sign Championship wonderkid Ryan Sessegnon.

The Fulham hotshot is just 15 years of age and regarded as one of the best home-grown prospects in the country, with many comparing him to a young Gareth Bale.

Arsenal launched a £3million bid for Sessegnon during the January transfer window, which the Cottagers swiftly rejected, and are expected to revive their interest at the end of the season.

But according to Mirror Football, Liverpool have now joined the race to sign the left-footed starlet and are ready to steal a march on their Premier League rivals.

However, Fulham remain determined to keep hold of Sessegnon, who captains England at U16 level, and look set to rebuff any approaches during the summer transfer window.

Nonetheless, Arsenal and Liverpool will both be expected to test the Championship outfit’s resolve with bids in the summer.
