Moussa Dembele

According to reports from The Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur have ended their pursuit of Chelsea transfer target Moussa Dembele.

The 19-year-old striker has been in strong form this season, claiming 14 goals and six assists in 40 Championship appearances despite Fulham flirting with the relegation zone for much of the campaign.

The Lilywhites came close to signing the France U20 during the January transfer window and were expected to revive their interest at the end of the season – when Dembele’s contract is set to expire.

But according to The Daily Mail, the Lilywhites have dropped their interest in the 6-foot assassin, with London rivals Chelsea now taking the lead in the race for his signature after being initially linked last week.

The Blues invited Dembele to Stamford Bridge this weekend as their ‘guest’, attending their 3-0 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday, suggesting their interest in the youngster is rapidly escalating.

Due to Dembele’s age, his next club will have to pay a compensation fee if he decides to leave Craven Cottage on a free transfer during the summer.
