Out - Theo Walcott

According to The Daily Star, Manchester United are in talks to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer; whilst The Sun speculate that Theo Walcott could join Liverpool if he decides to leave Arsenal.

The immediate future of Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been a major talking point amongst the tabloids in recent weeks, with his PSG contract set to expire at the end of the season, and Manchester United are amongst the favourites to land his signature.

The Daily Star – citing Corriere Dello Sport and Sport Witness – now claim the Red Devils have opened talks to sign the 34-year-old on a free transfer, discussing a contract that could see him take home an incredible £600k per week and would resultantly make him the best-paid player in the Premier League.

United are reportedly willing to sanction such an outrageous deal because the 34-year-old won’t require a transfer fee. But former club AC Milan are also keen on signing the Swede this summer, whilst Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, The Sun claim Theo Walcott could leave Arsenal during the summer transfer window if he fails to fight his way back into Arsene Wenger’s first-team plans before the end of the season, having started just one Premier League fixture since January.

Should that be the case, the British tabloid speculate Liverpool could revive their interest in the 26-year-old winger-forward, having tracked him closely before signing a contract extension at the Emirates last summer. However, Walcott is keen to play in the Champions League – and that could see the Reds miss out on his signature.
