Andreas Christensen

According to The Telegraph, Bayern Munich are monitoring Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen; whilst The Express claim Everton are targeting Roma defender Kostas Manolas as a potential replacement for John Stones.

The 19-year-old has thoroughly impressed on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach this season, becoming a backline regular to average 1.3 tackles, 2.5 interceptions, 3.7 clearances and 2.6 successful aerial duels per match from 24 Bundesliga outings, to the extent that Chelsea want to cancel his two-year loan spell twelve months early.

But The Telegraph claim the Danish international is keen to stay on at Borussia Park, where he is guaranteed regular football next season, and will reject the chance to return to Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window.

The British newspaper further report on transfer interest from German giants Bayern Munich, but they’re not the only major club with Christensen in their crosshairs. European champions Barcelona were linked last month and both Champions League outfits could pounce once the prodigious defender’s loan spell comes to an end in summer 2017.

Meanwhile, The Express claim Everton have lined up Roma defender Kostas Manolas as a potential replacement for John Stones, who is being targeted by Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 22-cap Greek international is no stranger to the Premier League’s rumour columns and has been linked with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United during recent transfer windows, whilst The Express claim David Moyes tried to sign him before stepping down as Everton manager in summer 2013.

The 24-year-old has been in good form this season, averaging 1.7 tackles, 2 interceptions, 4.5 clearances and 2.7 successful aerial duels per match, but recent reports have claimed the Stadio Olimpico outfit value him at a whopping £35million.
