Regan Charles-Cook

According to reports from South London Press, Arsenal and Liverpool are scouting Charlton Athletic prospect Regan Charles-Cook ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 19-year-old is the brother of Coventry City goalkeeper Reice Charles-Cook and Ebbsfleet United winger Anthony Cook and was on the Gunners’ books until 2013, when he was released and subsequently joined the Addicks’ academy set-up.

The Lewisham-born midfielder made his senior debut in a 4-1 win over Dagenham and Redbridge – coincidentally, one of Anthony’s former clubs – at the start of the season and scouts from Arsenal and Liverpool have been running the rule over him during recent U21 outings.

Charles-Cook signed a new contract in December and although it was described as ‘long-term’, the actual length remains unconfirmed. The promising youngster has also experienced the Championship this season, coming on for the final 20 minutes against Hull City in August, but is yet to feature under current manager Jose Riga.
