£30m ‘El Guerrero’ on Chelsea transfer hit list; Bayern targeting €15m-rated Spurs star

Arturo Vidal

According to The Daily Mail, Chelsea will attempt to prize Arturo Vidal away from Bayern Munich during the summer transfer window; whilst BILD claim Bayern Munich are targeting Tottenham Hotspur’s Eric Dier.

Chelsea were linked with the industrious midfielder in February amid rumours of Antonio Conte taking the managerial reigns at Stamford Bridge. The Italy boss was officially announced as the Blues’ next manager earlier this week and according to The Daily Mail, that has seen Vidal move to the upper echelons of the west London outfit’s transfer hit list.

The 29-year-old emerged as one of the top midfielders in world football and lifted three Serie A titles whilst playing under Conte at former club Juventus, where he earned the moniker ‘El Guerrero’ for his warrior-like style of play.

But whether Bayern Munich will part with the Chile international during the summer transfer window remains to be seen. Although his £30million-plus valuation is within the club’s financial reach, The Daily Mail claim the Bundesliga champions are eager to hold onto the feisty South American.

According to reports from BILD, meanwhile, Bayern Munich are eyeing Tottenham Hotspur’s versatile youngster Eric Dier as a potential successor to Xabi Alonso, whose Allianz Arena contract is due to expire at the end of next season.

The 22-year-old has been an integral influence on Spurs’ emergence as genuine Premier League title contenders, missing just one of their 32 league outings this term, and also impressed for England against Germany last month – bagging the winner to complete an enthralling 3-2 comeback.

BILD claim Dier, who can operate as a defensive midfielder, a centre-half or a full-back, is attracting interest from Bayern Munich ahead of the summer transfer window, having identified him as an ideal successor to Xabi Alonso at the base of their midfield.

The German publication value the former Sporting Lisbon youngster at a rather modest €15million.
