According to reports from Le10Sport, Liverpool are considering a shock transfer swoop for former Newcastle United winger Hatem Ben Arfa.
The France international was one of the most exciting attackers in the Premier League during the 2011/12 season but spent the remainder of his Tyneside career floating in and out of the starting Xi, amid accusations of poor fitness and a lack of team ethic.

By way of failed spell at Hull City, the former Lyon and Marseille winger returned to Ligue 1 with Nice last January and has since set the division alight, bagging eleven goals in 25 appearances whilst averaging 4.1 dribbles per match this season.
But Ben Arfa’s Allianz Riviera contract expires in the summer, meaning he’s already allowed to talk to foreign clubs regarding a free transfer, and according to Le10Sport, Liverpool are demonstrating an unexpected interest in the 28-year-old.
It could prove a real coup following Ben Arfa’s recent rebirth, with no transfer fee required. But the Reds face competition from Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, AC Milan and most notably, Ligue 1 champions PSG.
