According to reports from Mirror Football, Southampton have joined Everton, West Ham and Leicester City in the race to sign FC Midtjylland prodigy Pione Sisto during the summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old’s performances verged upon talismanic as his side were crowned Danish champions last term and he’s showcased his talents to the rest of Europe this season with a series of strong displays in the Europa League – most notably against Manchester United.

Indeed, the Danish sensation netted in both legs of Midtjylland’s knockout tie with the Old Trafford outfit last month, including a 44th-minute strike at the MCH Arena that helped sure The Wolves a historic 2-1 win over the 13-time Premier League champions.
West Ham were chasing the two-cap international last summer and interest from Everton (along with a host of foreign clubs) was reported by the tabloids last week – whilst Leicester are believed to be preparing a £12million bid for the coming transfer window.
But according to Mirror Football, Southampton have emerged as rival candidates in the race for Sisto’s signature, viewing him as an ideal replacement for exit-bound Sadio Mane. The Uganda-born forward is a similar kind of player, capable of playing out wide, as a striker or a No.10 and famed for his scintillating speed.
