The New Sergio Aguero - Lorenzo Gonzalez

According to separate reports from Sky Sports, Sergio Aguero has reiterated his desire to rejoin boyhood club Independiente; whilst Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed he’ll never move to Tottenham Hotspur after almost signing for them in summer 2012.

The Argentina international could fire Manchester City to a third Premier League title this season and there have recently been talks of a lengthy contract extension at the Etihad to fend off long-term interest from El Clasico duo Real Madrid and Barcelona.

But the potent poacher, who has bagged 16 Premier League goals so far this season, revealed in December that he plans to re-sign for boyhood club Independiente on a free transfer when his current City contract expires in summer 2018.

And the 27-year-old has reiterated that desire once again during a recent interview with radio station Independiente en la Uno. As quoted by Sky Sports, he said; “It’s clear that I’m going to return to Independiente and retire there. My family know that… I’m going to go there when my contract with Manchester City finishes in 2018.

“Here [at City], they know what I want to do, they know I want to return to Argentina. I’m giving you my word that I want to return to Avellaneda when I leave England. I dream of playing alongside my brothers. In the last few months, lots was said about my renewal but I didn’t pay it any attention. I know the contract ends after the World Cup [in Russia in 2018] and I’m going back to Independiente.”

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, a known target of several Premier League clubs for the coming transfer window, has revealed he’ll never sign for Tottenham Hotspur after ‘weird’ negotiations saw a potential move to White Hart Lane break down in summer 2012.

The Gabon international has bagged 33 goals across all competitions this season, including the opening strike in a 3-0 Europa League win over Tottenham Hotspur yesterday evening. As reported by Sky Sports, he informed journalists after the match that a failed move in 2012 has put him off joining the north Londoners in the future.

He said; “In the end everything became a bit weird, I didn’t really like the way things were done. If Spurs ever came back in me for me, I’d say no.”
