Romelu Lukaku

According to reports from The Sun and The Express respectively, Chelsea and Manchester United will target former stars Romelu Lukaku and Cristiano Ronaldo during the summer transfer window.

The beastly Belgian never scored a goal during his 15 appearances for the west Londoners but boasts 60 strikes in 130 top flight outings from spells with West Brom and current club Everton – an incredible return for a 22-year-old striker.

The Blues begrudgingly sold Lukaku to the Toffees in summer 2014, following a successful loan stint the season prior, and he’s been in exceptional form for the Merseysiders this season, netting 18 times to rise to second in the Premier League’s scoring charts.

According to The Sun, Chelsea will look to re-sign the 6 foot 3 centre-forward during the coming transfer window, but it could require doubling the £28million transfer fee Everton paid two years ago to convince them to sell.

Meanwhile, an exclusive from The Express alleges Manchester United are targeting former star Cristiano Ronaldo, who claimed 118 goals in 292 appearances, three Premier League titles, a Champions League title and the Ballon d’Or during his six seasons at Old Trafford.

The Portugal international has affirmed his reputation as arguably the greatest talent of his generation since signing for Real Madrid at a cost of £80million in summer 2009, going on to lift another Champions League title and two more Ballon d’Ors, but reportedly handed in a transfer request at the Bernabeu earlier this week.

The Express claim Real Madrid are ready to rebuild around Gareth Bale and will resultantly allow the 31-year-old to leave this summer, paving the way for a return to Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho – who managed CR7 during his three years as Blancos boss.

Ronaldo has scored an incredible 39 times already this season.
