Eden Hazard

According to reports from Marca, Real Madrid have ten players on their radar ahead of the summer transfer window – including Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, Manchester United’s David De Gea and Everton’s John Stones.

Los Blancos look set for a summer window of heavy spending – providing they can evade FIFA’s transfer embargo – as manager Zinedine Zidane looks to revitalise an underperforming squad he inherited from Rafa Benitez at the start of 2016. Ten players are on the club’s shortlist according to Marca, but three will be of particular interest to Premier League fans – David De Gea, John Stones and Eden Hazard.

The Manchester United No.1 infamously came close to a Real Madrid transfer last summer, but the deal missed La Liga’s deadline, and the Spanish giants look set to revive their interest, with Marca describing the thought of signing De Gea as ‘irresistible’ to a number of directors at the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid’s interest in Everton’s prodigious defender John Stones, on the other hand, isn’t overtly discussed in the article. But Marca claim the club are targeting three centre-backs – Stones, Aymeric Laporte and Marquinhos – of relatively similar description, young, quick and technically gifted, in the hope of signing at least one.

Meanwhile, Los Blancos are also keen to lure Eden Hazard to the Spanish capital, with Zidane particularly insisting upon midfield reinforcements. The Belgium international was linked with a Bernabeu transfer earlier in the season, but father Thierry Hazard has recently insisted he won’t leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

The other talents reportedly in Real Madrid’s transfer crosshairs include Wolfsburg defender Ricardo Rodriguez, Bayern Munich duo David Alaba and Robert Lewandowski, Juventus centre-mid Paul Pogba, Dortmund assassin Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, Schalke prodigy Sadio Mane and Barcelona’s (yes, Barcelona’s) Neymar.
