According to reports from Manchester Evening News and The Express, Manchester United are considering a summer swoop for former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Lassana Diarra.
The 30-year-old enforcer, once tipped as a successor to the legendary Claude Makelele, represented the London outfits a combined 20 times in the Premier League but is perhaps better-known for his spell with Portsmouth, where he won the 2008 FA Cup and earned a £19million move to Real Madrid.

A contract dispute with former club Lokomotiv Moscow saw the France international unable to play competitively during the 2014/15 season. MEN and The Express, who both cite reports from the printed edition of L’Equipe, claim Manchester United could bring the tough-tackling midfielder back to the Premier League next summer after running the rule over him during a recent scouting mission.
It is certainly an unexpected declaration but coincides with rumours that Jose Mourinho’s move to Manchester United is essentially a ‘done deal’. Diarra played under the Portuguese manager at Chelsea and Real Madrid.
