Lavezzi

According to The Daily Mail, Chelsea target Ezequiel Lavezzi is set to join Shanghai Shenhua; whilst Mirror Football report that Tottenham Hotspur are close to agreeing a new contract with Christian Eriksen.

The Argentina international featured regularly in the Parisians’ last three title bids but has found himself a peripheral figure in Laurent Blanc’s plans this season, issued just three starts in Ligue 1.

The 30-year-old revealed in September that he expects to leave Parc de Princes upon the expiration of his contract in the summer and was in talks with Chelsea over a potential Bosman move last month.

But according to The Daily Mail, the winger-forward is now set to become the latest high-profile name to jump ship to the Chinese Super League, in a £6million deal that could be completed within the next 24 hours.

Amid an unprecedented window of lavish spending, Chelsea midfielder Ramires, Atletico Madrid striker Jackson Martinez and Shakhtar Donetsk star Alex Teixeira have all moved to the Chinese top flight.

Meanwhile, Mirror Football report that Tottenham Hotspur are close to agreeing a new contract with Christian Eriksen.

The 23-year-old has bagged 28 goals in 108 appearances across all competitions since signing from Ajax in summer 2013 and become a pillar of the starting Xi under Mauricio Pochettino, featuring in all but three of his 63 fixtures as White Hart Lane boss.

The Danish international’s current terms still have two years left to run but Spurs have made a habit of rewarding their top performers with improved contracts and Eriksen appears the next in line to pick up a lucrative deal.

Tottenham hope to extend the attacking midfielder’s north London stay until 2021.
