Bacary Sagna

According to The Daily Mail, Bacary Sagna is set for a new contract at Manchester City; whilst Corriere Dello Sport report that Liverpool are targeting three players from La Liga.

The France international moved to the Etihad from Arsenal in a controversial free transfer two summers ago and after initially struggling for game-time has become a mainstay in the City Xi this season, starting all but three of their 25 Premier League fixtures thus far.

The right-back is now into the final 18 months of his contract but according to The Daily Mail, City are set to issue him a new deal that will likely extend his current terms by one year until the end of the 2017/18 season.

Meanwhile, Corriere Dello Sport report that Liverpool targeting three La Liga stars for the summer transfer window – Real Madrid forward Jese, Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen and Deportivo’s in-form attacker Lucas Perez.

Liverpool were linked with £23million-rated Jese earlier this week, alongside Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea, with his Bernabeu career seemingly coming to an end. Likewise, the Reds reportedly tried to sign Ter Stegen during the January transfer window and are widely expected to revive their interest in the German international at the end of the season.

Lucas Perez, however, is a fresh introduction to Liverpool’s rumour columns. The 27-year-old has been in fantastic form this season, grabbing 14 goals and four assists in 23 appearances for Deportivo, and can operate as an attacking midfielder or a centre-forward.

The Reds could be targeting the Spaniard as a cheaper alternative to like-minded attacker Alex Teixeira, who they missed out on last month, but that’s purely speculation on This Is Futbol’s part.
