Right Attacking Midfield - David Silva

According to Football Insider, Manchester City will look to offload star midfielder David Silva during the summer transfer window; whilst The Metro report that Arsenal face Real Madrid in the race to sign Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The Spanish World Cup winner has been an integral member of the City starting Xi since signing from Valencia in summer 2010, playing a pivotal role in their two successful Premier League title bids, but Football Insider claim he doesn’t fit into Pep Guardiola’s plans – with a particular concern over his limited energy off the ball.

Resultantly, the website report that the incoming Bayern Munich boss will look to offload the 30-year-old upon taking the Etihad hot seat in the summer. Under contract until 2019 and still regarded as one of the best playmakers in world-football, City reportedly expect to receive around £25million for Silva.

Meanwhile, The Metro – who cite reports from Spanish publication Don Balon – claim that Arsenal have been scouting Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga but face competition from La Liga giants Real Madrid in the race for his signature.

The 21-year-old has hugely impressed on loan at Real Valladolid this season, helping his adoptive side amass the fourth-best goals conceded record throughout the Spanish second-tier, and is also a regular for Spain at youth international level, with twelve caps for their U21 squad and a U19 European Championship on his CV.

His Bilbao contract doesn’t expire until 2018 and the Basque outfit will be keen to integrate the 6 foot 1 shot-stopper into their first team. But they may struggle to turn down sizable bids for Arrizabalaga and currently, Arsenal and Real Madrid are fronting the queue for his services.
