According to reports from The Sun, Chelsea are leading Manchester City and Manchester United in the race to sign Schalke sensation Leroy Sane.
The 20-year-old winger has rapidly emerged as one of the most exciting prospects in the division this season, bagging five goals and four assists in 15 starts whilst averaging 2.8 successful dribbles per match, and could be included in Joachim Lowe’s Euro 2016 squad after picking up his first Germany cap in November.

Every major Premier League club have been credited with interest in the left-footed attacker in recent months. Liverpool saw a €15million bid rejected last summer and reportedly launched a follow-up offer in November, whilst reports last week suggested an epic battle for his services between Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United in the coming transfer window.
But according to The Sun, the west Londoners are currently leading the race for Sane’s signature – although Schalke chief executive Clemens Tonnies has insisted the in-demand youngster won’t be leaving the Veltins Arena during the summer.
As quoted by The Daily Mail, Tonnies told Rheinische Post earlier this month; “I do not see Leroy Sane leaving Schalke any time soon. Everybody who wants the best for him has been telling him that he should stay at Schalke for at least one more season. You can still see him developing game after game.”
