According to reports from The Independent, Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski is set to snub interest from Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United this summer in favour of a move to Real Madrid.

Since his controversial arrival from Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer in summer 2014, the Poland international has gone on to bag 50 goals in 76 appearances in all competitions for the Bavarians – including 25 strikes this season – to affirm his status as one of world football’s leading frontmen.

Having won every available honour in German football during his five-and-a-half years in the Bundesliga, the 27-year-old is reportedly keen to test himself with a new challenge and resultantly looks set to follow departing manager Pep Guardiola out of the Allianz Arena this summer.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United would be involved in a £70million battle for Lewandowski’s services at the end of the season, but The Independent claim the 73-cap international is expected to snub approaches from the Premier League in favour of a move to Real Madrid.

Los Blancos are set to serve a twelve-month transfer embargo but a planned appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport could see it delayed until after the summer, allowing them one final window to reconfigure a squad that has largely underachieved over the last few years – barring their Champions League title in 2014.

Should they fail in postponing the ban, Lewandowski is prepared to wait it out until summer 2017.
