Moussa Dembele

According to London Evening Standard, Guus Hiddink has insisted that wantaway Chelsea defender Gary Cahill will not be sold; whilst BBC Sport report that Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of signing Fulham striker Moussa Dembele.

It was revealed earlier this week that the England international is pushing for a shock move away from Stamford Bridge amid fears his place at Euro 2016 has come under threat due to a lack of game time and Serie A outfit Roma are reportedly considering a last-minute bid.

But speaking at yesterday’s press conference, interim manager Guus Hiddink insisted the west London outfit will not let the 30-year-old leave before the close of the January transfer window – and that he’s still an important figure in Chelsea’s campaign.

As quoted by LES, the Dutchman said; “No (he is not for sale). First of all he is very happy. He is of value and as far as I’m concerned I will have him in the upcoming months. I think the club will have him in the upcoming years. He signed a new contract recently, which is a statement he loves the club and likes to be here.

“Some players have a little period where they don’t play frequently, but in the multitude of games coming up, everyone will get their minutes to play. He’s of big value and will prove that. If players are not playing, they must get frustrated. I talked to him a few days ago about the situation, which I like to do with key players.”

Meanwhile, BBC Sport report that Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of completing a £5million deal for Fulham striker Moussa Dembele.

The 19-year-old has bagged eleven goals across all competitions this season and Spurs have been linked with his services continuously over the last few months – in no small part due to his Craven Cottage contract expiring at the end of the season.

It was revealed earlier this week that the two London clubs have agreed an initial £5million fee for the prodigious frontman and according to BBC Sport, the deal is now close to completion, with Dembele taking a medical at White Hart Lane this afternoon.

However, Spurs are expected to loan the 6 foot 1 forward back to the Championship outfit for the remainder of the season.

If Spurs sign Dembele junior in the January window he needs to stay at WHL not go back to Fulham. No point in signing the lad if he’s not going to play the rest of season. Also, when are Spurs going to stop scoring own goals?
