3rd - Robert Lewandowski

According to reports from The Independent, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United have been put on alert by news that Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski wants to find a new challenge at the end of the season.

The Poland international is widely regarded as one of the top strikers in world football, having amassed a potent 151 goals in 262 appearances across all competitions since first arriving in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund in summer 2010. That includes 31 goals in the Champions League and 15 strikes in 16 outings this season.

The Premier League’s flagship clubs were all targeting the 27-year-old when he decided to leave the Black-Yellows on a free transfer in 2014, eventually opting to sign for Bundesliga rivals Bayern instead, and news of his apparent availability next summer has reportedly seen Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United revive their interest.

Lewandowski’s decision is not linked to the change in management at the Allianz Arena, with Carlo Ancelotti set to take Pep Guardiola’s place next season, but rather his willingness to test himself in another major top flight whilst still of optimum age.

Due to his contract not expiring until 2019, The Independent believe it will cost around £70million to convince Bayern Munich to part with the 6-foot centre-forward next summer. Any interest from the Premier League, however, is almost certain to be rivalled by La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Lewandowski affirmed his reputation as one of the world’s best with a four-goal haul against Los Blancos at the Bernabeu during the 2013 Champions League semi-final.
